A mathematics teacher,
turning fear into fun.
Fabeeha Faz has been teaching mathematics for over four years — first at Roots Millennium, now at Beaconhouse — to students aged roughly nine to seventeen. Her mission is quiet and specific: to turn the fear of mathematics into fun. Our task was to build the digital home for that mission — a place where parents feel trust before a single lesson begins.
From a student inspired by one teacher, to the teacher every student hopes to learn from.
Fabeeha discovered her passion for teaching mathematics after Grade 9. She was inspired by her own mathematics teacher, Sir Abbas — whose teaching style made mathematics clear, enjoyable and unforgettable. That single classroom shaped her ambition: to one day be the kind of teacher who could do the same for someone else.
Four years and two schools later, she is. Beginning at Roots Millennium and now teaching at Beaconhouse, Fabeeha works with students from roughly nine to seventeen — helping them build confidence alongside understanding, one lesson at a time.
Fear, not difficulty.
The real obstacle isn't the maths
Students rarely struggle because mathematics is impossible. They struggle because they are afraid of it — afraid of getting it wrong, afraid of being slow.
What parents are truly looking for
Parents are not simply searching for another tutor. They are looking for someone who can rebuild their child's confidence and create a healthy relationship with mathematics.
A healthy relationship with maths
The work is emotional as much as academic. Mathematics has to feel safe before it can feel interesting — and interesting before it can be enjoyed.
Trust, communicated before teaching
The website was designed to communicate trust before it ever tries to communicate teaching. Everything a parent reads is meant to lower the temperature, not raise it.
Five principles guided every screen.
Build trust before teaching
Every screen is measured against a single question — would a parent feel confident placing their child's mathematics learning in these hands?
Replace fear with confidence
Students rarely struggle because mathematics is impossible. They struggle because they are afraid of it. The site sets a calmer tone from the very first scroll.
Structured, but enjoyable
Lessons follow a clear path — the language, imagery and pacing stay warm. Learning is meant to feel good, not to feel like a test.
Simple booking for parents
A trial lesson is a few considered choices, never a form. Parents can arrange a first session from a phone in under a minute.
Lasting relationships with students
The platform is built for students who stay for years — a home for a longer relationship with mathematics, not a checkout for a single lesson.
A quiet, academic language.
The system is deliberately restrained — closer to a textbook or university prospectus than a consumer product.
Typography
A serif for headlines carries the editorial voice; a neutral sans handles interface text and forms.
Colour
White as the ground. Warm neutrals for surfaces. A single dark ink for text and action.
Spacing
Generous margins and long line-heights. The page breathes the way a well-set book does.
Cards
Hairline borders replace shadow. Elevation is implied through space, not styling.
Educational UI
Calendar, subject pickers and FAQ are given the same care as marketing pages — the product is the design.
How a student begins with Fabeeha.
- 01
Discovery
Most students arrive through a recommendation, an Instagram post, or a WhatsApp forward from a parent who has already seen the difference.
- 02
Free Trial Lesson
Every new student begins with a no-pressure trial — a first meeting to experience the teaching style before deciding anything.
- 03
Choose a Format
Once comfortable, students pick between one-on-one lessons for close attention or small batch classes for shared momentum.
- 04
Stay in Touch
Day-to-day communication with parents happens on WhatsApp, where updates, doubts and reminders travel easily.
- 05
The Website as Home
The site becomes the central place — for information, scheduling and booking new terms of study.
- 06
Grow Together
Students settle into a rhythm — often a longer relationship — moving from fear of mathematics to genuine curiosity.
Designed on a phone, first.
Most families arrive through a link shared in a message. The mobile experience is not a scaled-down website — it is the canonical one, with every interaction shaped by thumb reach and a moment of a parent's attention.
A small platform, engineered end to end.
Teacher Profile
Credentials, approach and a warm, human introduction.
Subjects
Curriculum coverage across GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate maths.
Booking
Trial and recurring lessons in a single, unhurried flow.
Availability
Real-time schedule pulled from the teacher's calendar.
Calendar
Google Calendar and Meet integrations — no third apps to install.
FAQ
The five questions every parent asks — answered before they ask.
Contact
A short, considered form for anything the booking flow can't resolve.
A modern, boring stack.
Chosen so the platform stays fast, cheap to run and easy for a small team to maintain — for years, not weeks.
From fear to curiosity.
For Fabeeha, success isn't a grade at the end of a term. It looks like this.
Meet Minsa
One of Fabeeha's students, Minsa, was academically strong in every other subject — yet feared mathematics deeply. The fear, not the maths, was the real problem.
Confidence first
Rather than opening with formulas, Fabeeha spent the first weeks rebuilding Minsa's confidence — permission to be curious, permission to be slow, permission to enjoy it.
A voluntary summer
Eventually Minsa asked, on her own, to study Additional Mathematics through the summer holidays — exploring topics like logarithms simply because she wanted to learn more. That, for Fabeeha, is what success looks like.
Patience, creativity and attention to detail — outside the classroom, too.
Outside teaching, Fabeeha enjoys painting, cooking and decorating her home. These are quiet, meticulous crafts — the same patience, creativity and attention to detail that students feel in her classroom every week.
To become the teacher every student hopes to learn from.
Fabeeha's long-term goal is simple, and singular. The website has been designed to support that vision — making her teaching more accessible through one-on-one lessons, small batch classes, and, in time, structured online courses that reach students beyond her city.

“I am here to turn the fear of mathematics into fun.”
— FABEEHA FAZ
This project was never about building another tutoring website. It was about building a digital platform that reflects a teacher's philosophy, earns parents' trust, and helps students discover confidence in mathematics — one lesson, one student, one small victory at a time.

We're preparing writeups of the platforms and internal systems we've shipped for hospitality, media and consumer brands. In the meantime, we'd be glad to talk through what we could build with you.
